Coastal Anclote Trail Description

The Coastal Aneclote Trail is a multi-use path is southeast Pasco County. The 4.5-mile trail  provides safe bike-ped connections between the Pinellas Trail (via the developing Elfers Spur Trail) and three Pasco County parks, Key Vista Park, Anclote Gulf Park and Anclote River Park. Key Vista Nature Park, which lies at the north end of the trail, provides views of Anclote Key and the Gulf of Mexico; a little further south, Anclote Gulf Park has a popular fishing pier and a dog park, as well as a boardwalk that leads to Key Vista Nature Park; and Anclote River Park, with a swimming beach and boat launch on the Gulf.

In addition to the three parks, the trail also allows neighbors to ride or walk safely to the local high, middle and elementary schools. The trail has both flat sections and inclines, and as an extra blessing in the coastal heat, is almost entirely shrouded in tree cover.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at each of the parks: Key Vista Nature Park (2700 Baillies Bluff Road, Holiday); Anclote Gulf Park (2305 Baillies Bluff Rd., Holiday); Anclote River Park (1119 Baillies Bluff Rd., Holiday).

Coastal Anclote Trail Reviews

Nice trail!

I rode the entire trail (according to the map) in a couple of hours. The trail condition is great, almost always in the woods, so little traffic noise, and the parks and access to the Gulf is good.

Beautiful Trail

I biked from my house in Holiday to the top of the trail just north of the Key Vista Nature Park entrance. I rode it all the way to the Anclote River Park. It was a beautiful ride! The trail is smooth with minor inclines. The scenery is beautiful, and along this trail you have access to three wonderful parks. You can't beat that! I sat at the Anclote River Park along the water. They have plenty of park benches, picnic tables. a boat ramp, a swimming beach area, and restrooms. I highly recommend this trail.

My New Close-to-Home Favorite

I rode this trail on Sunday with my niece. We started at Wall Springs on the Pinellas Trail, heading North, took the spur trail at Tarpon Springs to Dixie Highway, crossed Alt 19, and made our way onto the Coastal Anclote Trail.

We rode every bit of the paved trail surfaces, and as much as I like the Pinellas Trail, I think I might like this new trail even more. I plan to do the whole ride again next Saturday or Sunday, but this time I will use my gravel bike and hit all the unpaved trails I can, as well. When I want mileage and exercise, I will take the Pinellas Trail, or make my way onto the Starkey Gap and Starkey Wilderness Trail. But when I want to clear out the mental cobwebs and brighten my day, I will ride this trail.

I highly recommend you spend an a few hours exploring these three parks and this trail system. Canopied paved trails, hard dirt trails, walking paths, parks, the Gulf, elevated observation towers, boardwalks, playgrounds, clean restrooms, picnic tables & kiosks, animals, flower gardens and butterfly gardens, the Coastal Anclote Trail has it all.

Take your time and soak up all the beauty this trail, and these parks have to offer.

Coastal Anclote Trail

Fun ride, well maintained paved surface. Several points of interest along the water. Saw nesting bald eagles. Nice to ride away from the highway noise. Highly recommend this beautiful trail.

Coastal Anclote Trail

Beautifully laid out trail with benches strategically placed and restroom facilities. Fabulous area to view nature in all its glory!

Coastal Anclote Trail is among our favorites

Great little trail with plenty of shade, ample parking and spectacular sunset viewing opportunities from either of the county park trailheads.

Sunday ride

Trail is great once you get to it. Nice ride from Palm Harbor! Shaded, lots of trees and nature. Rode to the North end and stopped at all the parks and nature trails. Flat smooth ride.
