Print Friendly MapAt 2.18 miles, the County Line Memorial Trail is relatively short, but it offers an engaging experience throughout. The tree-lined pathway sits on 3 acres of land, stretching from FM 1044 to FM 725. There are amenities such as parking, rest areas with benches, and stationary fitness stations.
There are three stationary fitness stations installed at points along the trail. Featuring six kinds of exercise equipment, the fitness stations offer trail users a chance to change up their workout. Instructions are provided for all levels of users. The first station is at the trailhead at County Line Road, the second is at Kraft Park and the third is at the Walnut Avenue trail entrance.
On top of this, the trail provides both an opportunity to enjoy as well as learn about nature. Panels have been installed to help users learn more about the surrounding wetland ecology. Trail users are likely to encounter various kinds of wildlife including dragonflies, frogs and birds.
The trail is an important recreational asset, providing a safe space for families with children, as well as runners and cyclists. For people enjoying the trail with their pets, there are pet waste bag dispensers provided. The County Line Memorial Trail passes through a number of neighborhoods and connects to Kraft, Hoffman and Fischer Parks.
There is a trailhead with parking located near the intersection of County Line Road and FM 1044.
The concrete path is nice. Most people won't be able to do the exercises at the stations as instructed, so do your own thing. Don't expect nature. You're walking along an open field between housing areas, right behind people's privacy fences. There was one spot where 3 panels were erected showing plants and animals, but none of that was to be seen because the area was mown down to the dirt. I don't believe I would classify this as a trail so much as simply a walkway between housing areas.

Starts at FM 725 to FM 1044 in New Braunfels, TX. I recommend starting at Fischer Park, off of County Line Road. Trail is paved and wide. Crossings have traffic warning lights. Parking is available at the FM1044 trailhead or at Fischer Park. Safe and well maintained.
