East Plum Creek Trail Description

The East Plum Creek Trail begins in a field across the street from the Native Legend Open Space. It goes through an underpass under Meadows Blvd near Castle Rock Middle School. The next few miles of the trail run through an open grassland along East Plum Creek. Wildlife along the trail include Preble’s meadow jumping mice, migratory birds, beavers and black bears. The main trailhead and parking lot is located on Meadows Blvd, which passes over the trail on a high bridge. The trail connects with the Hangman's Gulch Trail 1.2 miles south of the trailhead. The East Plum Creek trail passes through Downtown Castle Rock, where it intersects with the Sellars Gulch Trail. The trail continues along East Plum Creek before ending at a shopping center. There are proposals to extend the trail further south. The East Plum Creek Trail is part of the planned Colorado Front Range Trail, which will run along the Front Range from Wyoming to New Mexico.

Parking and Trail Access

The main trailhead is located at 970 Meadows Pkwy. Parking is also available in a public lot on South St between Perry St and Wilcox St, or along most of the streets in Downtown Castle Rock.
