The Erie Cattaraugus Rail Trail will be a 27.6-mile trail that follows the former Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad corridor through the beautiful countryside of Western New York from Orchard Park in Erie County to the Town of Ashford in Cattaraugus County.
This multi-use trail will connect the towns of Orchard Park, Aurora, Colden, Concord and Ashford, as well as their surrounding communities, providing opportunities for recreation and alternative methods of transportation. The trail is open for walking, hiking, jogging, bicycling, horseback riding, nature observation, snow shoeing, and cross-country skiing.
Running 1.8 miles from Springville's northern border to its southern border, the Pop Warner Rail Trail is the first fully developed and opened section of this impressive project. It is a multiuse trail, with asphalt millings on its surface, and is open to a range of non-motorized uses. In Orchard Park, a 2-mile section of the trail is cleared and open, but unfinished from Ellicott Road to Jewett Holmwood Road. There is another 3.5 miles of undeveloped trail between North Street and Sibley Road in East Concord
Parking for the Pop Warner Rail Trail is found at the West Main Street Trail Head (227 West Main Street) which sits across from the Historic Railroad Depot in Springville.
We did not see any asphalt. This trail is not for biking or on line skating. It is all grass and there is no parking except on the road.
