Fan Branch Trail Description

The Fan Branch Trail is a pave hike and bike trail cutting through the Southern Village neighborhood of Chapel Hill. It's 10-feet wide and kicks off at the Southern Community Park, which features a playground, athletic fields, meadows and a dog park. The park also features a fitness installation along the trail, with multiple workout stations. The paved pathway travels behind the Mary Scroggs Elementary School before emerging from the park. At Graylyn Drive and Edgewater Circle is the Fan Branch Pocket Park which includes a children's play area. The trail parallels Edgewater Circle and then dips back into a wooded area, up to Culbreth Road and ends at its intersection with another local trail, the Morgan Creek Trail

Fan Branch Trail Reviews

Over all, well kept and tidy trail.Only concerns were the wooden incline bridge needs a few planks replaced because of decay. Also no curb along trail at highway underpass. Other than that easy going for power wheelchairs.
