The FEVR Trail borrows its name from the Fremont Valley & Elkhorn excursion line, that ran trains on 17 miles between Fremont and Hooper. The FEVR line is intact but the trail shares right-of-way with it for about 800ft. The concrete trail is located on the west side of Fremont and anchored by residential subdivisons at both ends, making it easily accessible to neighbors. The north end of the trail is Palmer Drive in the Washington Heights nieghborhood. From there the trail stretches to Somer's Avenue, where it crosses railroad tracks and continues to 23rd Street. Then the trail is a straight-shot down to Linden Avenue, paralleling BNSF train tracks.
At Linden, another trail segment extends east into a neighborhood, and west to Ridge Road, and providing access to a dog park and to Christensen Field, a park with amenities for soccer, baseball, softball and bocce ball.
Walking, biking and other non-motorized uses are allowed on this trail. Approach railroad and road crossings with care.
There is no dedicated parking for this trail.
