Four Hills Recreational Trail Description

The eight-foot wide asphalt sidepath known as the Four Hills Recreational Trail stretches for almost a mile in the southeastern corner of Albuquerque, providing a useful pathway through the suburban Four Hills neighborhood. Running alongside a fast-moving street, the trail provides a safer transportation alternative for cyclists and pedestrians, allowing residents from the nearby areas to connect to restaurants and shops along Central Avenue to the north.

The trail also provides a connection at the northern end to the eastern and southern ends of the I-40 Trail and the Tramway Recreation Trail, respectively, helping to connect these outlying neighborhoods into the city of Albuquerque's network of multi-use trails. With gorgeous views of the mountains to the east, the trail traverses up and down the hilly outskirts of the city, ending at the intersection with Stagecoach Road.

Parking and Trail Access

No dedicated trail parking is available. Trail users can choose to park at the nearby Singing Arrow Park and Community Center, located at the eastern end of Slinging Arrow Avenue east of Dorado Place. Bike and walking trails from the park can help you connect to the Four Hills Recreational Trail to the east. Alternatively, parking may be available at local businesses at the northern end of the trail off of Central Avenue; be sure to follow any posted parking signs and regulations.
