Freda Grade Trail Description

The Freda Grade Trail—also known as Trail 121 on Michigan snowmobile maps—connects with the Bill Nicholls Trail just north of South Range and offers riders a fun-filled trek to view Lake Superior to the north. The trail has a dirt surface, making bikes with thicker tires a necessity.

Just to the east of the trail’s northern trailhead in Redridge, the Redridge Steel Dam stands tall over the Salmon Trout River. The impressive structure is one of only a handful of dams ever constructed in the United States of steel.
