Galloway Creek Greenway Description

The popular Galloway Creek Greenway runs through southeastern Springfield. It begins at Pershing Middle School and heads south paralleling Lone Pine Avenue.

Although the trail has an urban feel, especially where it circumvents the busy US 65/60 cloverleaf interchange, there are scenic views to be had, such as the stretch through Sequiota Park and its connection to the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.

Nearby, along the north shoreline of Lake Springfield, you can extend your trip on the James River Greenway. Both are part of a local trail network being developed by Ozark Greenways, a nonprofit group in Springfield.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at Pershing Middle School (2120 Ventura Avenue), Sequiota Park (3500 S. Lone Pine Avenue) and the Springfield Conservation Nature Center (4601 S. Nature Center Way).

Please note that bikes, scooters, skates, and pets are not allowed on the Springfield Conservation Nature Center trails.

Galloway Creek Greenway Reviews

Nice trail for a short bike ride, good asphalt or concrete surfaces, wide enough to pass walkers. Trail appeared to have ways to connect easily with other trails.

Great for my first "trail" walk!

I started at Pershing school and walked in one mile. The trail was fantastic ( I am used to my gravel on where I live); and had mile markers on the asphalt every .2 miles. Asphalt all the way I walked and mostly shaded; lots of trees, simply a beautiful experience!

Family Ride

Nice, easy trail to do with kids. Trail has lots of trees & goes thru a park. I would also recommend the little restaurant along the trail, Galloway Grill. They are biker & kid friendly w/ good food & a decent selection of beers.
