Gaston Edwards Trail Description

In northern Orlando, the Gaston Edwards Trail provides a pleasant jaunt of nearly a mile along Lake Ivanhoe's eastern shore. (Hence, the trail is also known as the Lake Ivanhoe Trail.) The paved route is dotted with trees and passes through Gaston Edwards Park; benches, exercise stations, and a playground are available along the way.

For a longer excursion, trail-goers can easily connect to the Orlando Urban Trail, which lies about two blocks south from trail's end on Magnolia Avenue.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available in Gaston Edwards Park (1236 N. Orange Avenue).

Gaston Edwards Trail Reviews

Look at the Map

I decided to bring my dog here after reading the description. It was a nice little walk, however there is no clear start and stop to the trail. It just dead ends at an apartment complex and at a crosswalk. The parking lot is right in the middle of the trail too so we walked to the left, found the dead end and I was confused thinking it must continue somewhere else and we ended up walking through a business center. So we turned around, passed the car, and reached another dead end at the apartment complex. Now looking at the map I realize the trail is actually structured that way, which I find strange. I wish I had looked at the map previously and I would have chosen a more direct walking trail. My dog had fun and we still got our exercise in so the trail served its purpose, just wished I hadn’t been so confused.
