The City of Buffalo, nestled in the foothills of Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains, has a growing network of pathways called the Clear Creek Trail System. Constructed in 1985, the Highway 16 Bike Path has served as an important non-motorized transportation alternative to the busy roadway for decades.
The paved pathway begins on the west end of town and parallels the south side of Highway 16; a wide grassy median between the two keeps the experience comfortable. Note that while you will have pleasant views of the mountains and open fields, there is no shade along the route. At Veterans Lane, the bike path connects to the Greenbelt Trail, which circles back into town.
Parking is available on the west end of the trail at the trailhead off Highway 16, just east of Old Antlers Way.
Not well maintained but serves the purpose. Connects to the creek trail which is packed gravel
