Hondo River Recreation Trail Description

The Hondo River Recreation Trail mimics the course of the Rio Hondo for about a mile. The paved trail sits on the north bank of the river, providing a safe place to walk and bike in Roswell. Rio Hondo flows northeast but you'll travel in the opposite direction if you choose to start in Hondo Park. From there the trail heads southwest, passing residential suburbs, crossing a railroad and then entering an industrial part of the city. The trail terminates at Hendricks Street.

Parking and Trail Access

Ample parking can be found at Hondo Park on S. Garden Avenue. From the parking lot, head south past the Boys and Girls Club building to join the trail.
