Print Friendly MapThe House Creek Greenway Trail is a 2.8-mile-long paved trail that runs from Crabtree Valley Avenue near the intersection with Blue Ridge Road (near the McDonald's) until it meets the Reedy Creek Trail just east of the pedestrian bridge across I-440 near Wade Avenue. The trail connects the surrounding neighborhoods to a number of destinations including parks (Marshall Memorial Park and Glen Eden Pilot Park); Meredith College and the North Carolina Museum of Art.
While it’s not one of the longer trails in Raleigh, inexperienced or younger riders may find the grade changes somewhat challenging as one heads from Crabtree Valley Ave. toward Reedy Creek Trail. For instance, when the trail goes behind the Marshall Park apartments, it begins the first of a few uphill climbs that might have you stopping to take a break. Once you reach the end, you'll have the option to continue riding on the Reedy Creek Trail. Heading to your right will take you across I-440 and toward the Museum of Art, and going to the left will take you toward Meredith College and Hillsborough Street. Luckily, your return trip to Crabtree Valley Ave. should be much easier and quicker.

At the north endpoint, parking is available in the unpaved parking area behind the McDonald's at the intersection of Blue Ridge Rd and Crabtree Valley Ave. Along the trail, parking is available at Glen Eden Pilot Park or along Horton St near Lake Boone Trail.
