Hynes Spur Trail Description

The Hynes Spur Trail links the heart of Forest City, Iowa, with its municipal airport to the south. The short paved trail passes through Pammel Park and adjacent to the Bear Creek Golf Course, with views of the Winnebago River plentiful along the way. The trail also passes the grounds for the Winnebago Rally, an annual event held by Winnebago Industries, the large RV manufacturer headquartered in Forest City.

The southern section of the Hynes Spur Trail runs through verdant fields before ending near the Winnebago River at 330th Street.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Hynes Spur Trail can be found in a small gravel lot at the trail’s southern trailhead on 330th Street and in Pammel Park off US 69.
