Johnnie Brook Road Trail Description

Though just under a mile, the Johnnie Brook Road Trail is an important link in the much-longer Cross Vermont Trail system, linking Richmond and Williston. To make that connection, you must use the unpaved segment of Johnnie Brook Road (at the road's southern end). The Johnnie Brook Road trail follows the edge of a woodland, which flanks open fields near the Winooski River. It follows an old road that once ran between Huntington Road and the end of Johnnie Brook Road.

Parking and Trail Access

There is no parking at either trailhead. Please do not park along the road at either end point because you will likely block access for residents and farmers. Instead park at the Volunteer Green in Richmond (just north of the Winooski River Bridge). You can also park at some of the fishing pull-out areas along the maintained section of Johnnie Brook Road.
