The Kingston Point Rail Trail will be a paved pathway stretching from Kingston’s midtown to the Rondout Creek waterfront, connecting important points in the community such as Kingston High School, City Hall, the YMCA, and Hasbrouck Park. The rail-trail follows the route of the former Ulster and Delaware Railroad, which once carried vacationers from Kingston Point to the Catskill Mountains.
The first phase of the trail opened in September 2019, taking a serpentine route from Chester Street at Jansen Avenue to Garraghan Drive to the Rondout Gardens Housing community. The trail is paved, and connects to various businesses, John F. Kennedy Elementary and Hasbrouck Park. A restored 300-foot railroad tunnel takes users across US Route 9W. A little pocket park called the Hasbrouck Delaware Parklet, also provides access to the trail via a staircase leading down to the tunnel.
Phase 2 will see the trail extended farther south from Garraghan Drive down to the Trolley Museum of New York. The trail is part of the Kingston Greenline, an initiative of the Kingston Land Trust, which involves building out a network of trails and complete streets. Eventually, the Kingston Greenline will also link up with the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail and the O & W Rail Trail.

- E. Chester St. and Jansen Ave.
- Delaware Ave. and Livingston St.
- Murray St. and Hasbrouck Ave.
This trail connects midtown and the waterfront. Easy ride both ways
This is, so far, a short but fun trail. The city of Kingston, NY has plans to extend it along the Rondout Creek and Hudson River. The west end also can meet up with the D&H Canal Heritage Corridor (O&W Rail-Trail) in Hurley, after a very rural path. So it is coming along nicely.
