The Legacy Trail is a part of the City of Plano trail system. This trail is 4.5 miles long and connects to Windhaven Meadows Park and WH "Buzz" Rasor Park. The northern most segment connects to the Preston Ridge Trail.
The Legacy Trail runs between Rockledge Ln. (Plano) and Spring Creek Pkwy. (Plano).
Parking is available at Windhaven Meadows Park, 5400 Windhaven Pkwy (Plano).
Please see TrailLink Map for detailed directions.
This trail now goes from Windhaven/Spring Creek where there is a ton of parking at the Liberty Windhaven Park and goes North for about 3.5 to 4 miles to Buzz Rasor Park in Frisco. Its complete unlike the Trail map. All gaps are finished.
This is the best trail for somebody starting to bike. Its a beginners level I would say. Its all concrete.
I walked Spring Creek to the North, past (under) Tennyson. Very nice meandering through shady trees, along the creek, then open grassy areas, behind big, attractive business buildings. Had fun exploring/walking on the dam just north of Tennyson, saw some baby turtles and an egret.
DOWNFALL: as far as I can tell, there's no convenient place to park at the Spring Creek end. I finally parked in a condo complex that had an entry gate that didn't close (but I think was supposed to), then walked west a bit to catch the trail. Didn't explore parking at the northern end of this segment.
