Malden River Greenway Description

The Malden River Greenway is part of the Mystic Greenways trail system, which also includes the Wellington Greenway and the Mystic River Greenway. When completed, it will run along the Malden River from Malden to Everett.

The first completed section is a crushed-stone path in downtown Malden. Although this section is short, it connects to the Northern Strand Community Trail, which runs for eight miles to Lynn.

The second completed section starts in Village Landing Park in Everett. The greenway crosses under Revere Beach Pkwy, runs along a sidewalk for a short distance, then becomes a paved trail. The trail goes past a wetland, then follows the Mystic River before ending at Mystic View Rd. A proposed pedestrian bridge would connect the southern end of the Malden River Greenway to Somerville.

Parking and Trail Access

There is no official trail parking, but trail users can park at the Gateway Center (1 Mystic View Rd, Everett).
