Print Friendly MapThe Mesquite Heritage Trail is billed as the city’s “largest recreation facility”. The multi-use path encourages residents to get out and get active – whether walking, rolling or riding. Trail users can also step off the trail to work out at the exercise station provided at Palos Verde Lake Park The winding concrete pathway is also a safe commuting alternative, as it connects neighborhoods to a slew of amenities including schools, shopping and parks.
The trail kicks off at Towne Centre Dr. & Franklin Dr. and heads northeast to its endpoint at the westbound I-30 frontage road, right next to Northwest Dr. There are multiple at-grade road crossings, as well as a pedestrian bridge over North Mesquite Creek in Kimbrough Park.
Parking is available mid-trail adjacent to the Kimbrough Athletic Complex off Green Canyon Drive. Another parking lot is available closer to the southern end of the trail off Americana Lane.
Wide paved paths great for walking. Decent amount of foot traffic. If you enjoy looking at houses and power lines this trail is for you. Great for beginning EUC and one wheel riders due to the wide paved path and grass on each side.
The path is smooth with great gentle inclines/descents. Beautiful scenery along the way even though it’s in town. There’s a couple of busy crossings, but it’s doable.
