Print Friendly MapThe Moments-In-Time Bike Trail takes you on a journey through Granbury's favorite green spaces. The 8-ft wide concrete trail is easily identifiable by the yellow centerline stripe that runs the length of the path.
The trail forms a connective tissue between destinations of interest in the city. Beginning on the west end, you can access the Granbury Municipal Airport as well as Granbury Middle School. Continuing east, the trail begins to parallel Crossland Road for nearly a mile. The trail skirts the edge of Granbury City Park, which hosts amenities ranging from baseball and soccer fields to a swim center and skate park. Additional walking paths criss-cross the park. The path then goes from the south side of Crossland Road across the railroad tracks to another park, with disc golf, baseball and a dog park.
From there, the trail begins to mimic the curves of Lambeth Branch, meandering through the Jim Burks Firefighters Memorial Park, and then into Shanley Park in the heart of the city's historic district. You can take the trail south to the county library or City Hall, or remain on the water's edge for a tranquil stroll. At Crockett Street, ride on Rucker Street east towards Lambeth Branch City Park to rejoin the trail, which then heads south, across a bridge, and emerges from behind a series of homes into Bridge Street. Between Bridge Street and Pearl Street, one block south where the trail restarts, you may have to use a combination of streets and sidewalks. Once you're on the south side of Pearl Street, continue east to the beach. Granbury City Beach Park, the final highlight of the route, sits on the edge of the Brazos River and is chock-full of fun activities for the whole family.
The trail is designed to picked up at many points. The parks along the route provide ample parking for those approaching by car:
Best to do with a bike and on a cloudy or cool day, not much shade but the concrete helps to stay on the trail. Overall not horrible trail
Great easy trail for running, walking, or biking. Weaves through 4 parks, over water and along the lake, and near the square for easy access to wander downtown to grab lunch, a drink or souvenirs. Our favorite part is the boardwalk behind the hotel and convention center that over looks the lake and also the boardwalk on the beach!
