Mud Creek Trail Description

The Mud Creek Trail follows its namesake Mud Creek, known as Freyschlag Creek in the 19th century, from N. Old Missouri Road at the eastern terminus to the connection with the Scull Creek Trail near Steele Boulevard in the west. The 10-foot-wide asphalt trail includes a short stretch on N. Front Street, which has bike lanes. The trail runs past numerous residences, retail stores, restaurants and a movie theater, all while providing a secluded place to experience nature.

The Mud Creek Trail's connection with the Scull Creek Trail, which itself connects to the Frisco Trail in downtown Fayetteville, provides a continuous network of 7.6 miles of trail to the residents of the city. A spur to the north of the Mud Creek Trail also connects with bike lanes on Vantage Drive to give bicyclists a route to the Lake Fayetteville Trail on the north side of Fayetteville. Benches are available along the Mud Creek Trail.

The trail is part of a trail network known as the Razorback Greenway, a 36-mile, primarily off-road, shared-use trail that extends from the Bella Vista Trail in north Bentonville to south Fayetteville.

Parking and Trail Access

Public parking is provided at the eastern terminus on N. Old Missouri Road between the trail's intersection with Joyce Boulevard to the north and Sweetbriar Drive to the south. The trail can also be accessed where it crosses N. Front Street, between Joyce Boulevard and East Sain Street; Mall Avenue between Joyce Boulevard and Van Asche Drive; and Steele Boulevard between Joyce Boulevard and Van Asche Drive.

Mud Creek Trail Reviews

Super easy and flat, perfect for little kids!

I have a ten and a four year old who both just started biking. We had zero problems and only had to push up hill at the access ramps to the cross streets. Also a couple of spots put you basically on the side walk by speeding traffic separated only by plastic fence pole things, kinda scary for the parents but the kids thought it was great lol. Going under several bridges beside pretty water spots called for closer inspection and added to the adventure. Very pretty ride that makes you forget you are in town sometimes, take the kids and they will love it! By the way, the Old Mo. road parking lot is usually full so plan on parking behind Regions bank at Joyce and Vantage. In the back at the end of Vantage there is an access spot to the trail.

Awesome beginners trail

If your new to biking, this is a great trail. 90% flat and 2 small incline hills with only one road crossing on a side street. Plenty of places to rest and close to eateries. Their is Fat Tire Bike Shop just off the trail in case you need repairs ( they came in handy today). Nice scenery.

pretty

It was nice really pretty sceneries. Got alittle bit confusing when u had to cros the street go up a ways n restart the trail we will do this trail again.

Mud Creek Trail

I LOVE this trail. It is beautiful for a nice walk or adventuring down to the creek. We always see some type of wildlife whether it is deer, birds, rabbits, turtles, etc. absolutely lovely. It's located behind the butterfield community, so I always feel safe on it when I'm running alone.
