Print Friendly MapAllen is a city just north of Plano, Texas within the Dallas-Fort Worth metro footprint. The city is home to over 60 miles of paved share-use pathways. The Mustang Creek Trail is one of these, a trail mimicking the creek as it cuts through residential neighborhoods of east Allen. It is a park connector, with parks at either end and two more in-between. From north to south, the trail threads through Reed Park East, Shadow Lakes Park, Bethany Lakes Park, Bethany Ridge Park and Heritage Park. Additionally, at its southern end, it connects to one of Allen’s favorite trails, the Cottonwood Creek Trail. It’s a well-shaded recreational path, 10-foot wide concrete sitting comfortably within the wooded banks of the creek. There are street-level crossings, so be sure to approach those with caution.
You can park at Bethany Lakes Park. You can also access the trail from the other parks along the trail's length but parking may not be available at every access point.
