Niagara Scenic Parkway Trail Description

The Niagara Scenic Parkway Trail, formerly known as the Robert Moses Recreational Trail, spans nearly 4 miles beginning at Main Street in Niagara Falls. From there, it heads north past the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center and winds along the Niagara River through a series of state parks.

In De Veaux Woods State Park, trail goers will find several historical buildings, an old-growth forest, and many recreational amenities, including athletic fields, a playground, picnic tables, and grills. Farther along, the trail continues through Devil's Hole State Park, which offers scenic overlooks, picnic areas, fishing spots, and hiking trails.

From the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, adventurers can also pick up the Great Gorge Railway Trail to descend closer to the river. And, on the opposite bank, the Devil's Hole Trail also offers a hiking excursion.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking and restrooms are available at the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center (200 Robert Moses Parkway N., Niagara Falls), in De Veaux Woods State Park (3180 De Veaux Woods Drive, Niagara Falls), and at Devil's Hole State Park (off Robert Moses Parkway).

Niagara Scenic Parkway Trail Reviews

Wide & smooth with great views

Trail is smooth and wide with many locations that connect with the wall along the gorge for great views. Trail connects to the falls, Goat Island and a trail that extends 4 miles east from Goat Island along the Niagara River. During busy times consider parking east of the falls along Niagara Scenic Parkway pullouts then bike to the falls.

a pleasant surprise!

Overall a beautiful trail. Great opportunities to stop with very picturesque views.

AVOID SUMMER 2019

The whole trail is under complete rebuilding. Detour through all city streets in bad areas. It will be a great ride someday, just not this year.

Good views of the Niagara River along the way

North of Niagara Falls, USA one lane of the Robert Moses Parkway has been closed to cars. This makes a nice ride. At Devil's Hole the off ride bike path ends. From this path you can go south from town along the river and go over to Goat Island for some extra mileage and more great views of the river and falls.

On this trip we stayed on the Canadian side where there are some great trails along the river. One day we biked across the bridge back to the USA to take this ride!
