Niles Greenway Description

The Niles Greenway is a paved, multi-use path running north–south between the county line on the south and the town of Niles. The pleasant trail passes through a mix of wooded areas, scattered light industrial estates and a few suburban back yards.

The trail offers easy access to downtown Niles, Meander Creek Reservoir and an off-road route between Niles and towns south, including Austintown and Canfield. From the trail's southern end at County Line Road, you can continue a short ways farther south than Canfield along the MetroParks Bikeway for seamless ride.

Parking and Trail Access

At the northern end, park in the lot on E. Church Street (off E. State St.). At the southern end, park in a small lot off Depot Steet just west of Township Hwy 557.

Niles Greenway Reviews

Nice combo ride with the Metroparks Bikeway.

Last Friday a buddy and I rode the Niles Greenway & the Metroparks Bikeway. While I liked the Metroparks section a tad better the Niles was certainly nice. There were a few nice bridges to ride over and a fantastic picnic area at the north trailhead. I believe the length on TrailLink for this trail is incorrect though. According to the signs along the trail it is 3.87 miles long and that matches pretty closely to what I got on my Garmin. The Niles is a bit more urban or light industrial and has 10 road crossings so keep that in mind. If you're on the Metroparks trail be sure to ride the Niles also.

afternoon ride on the Nile

The trail was fairly well-maintained sections of the of the trail had a lot of root heaves, which made the riding a little rough. There was a couple of road crossings that had jagged metal supports sticking up from the ground for posts that should’ve been there, if you’re not careful you might run over one as they’re not well marked.

October 2022

Always an enjoyable ride on this trail. Saw some turtles in the large pond along the trail. Leaves still very green, not changed for Fall. Trail in good condition having recently been sealcoated.
