The North Central DuPage Regional Trail stretches 11.6 miles in four segments between the communities of Wayne in the west and Roselle in the east. This paved, multiuse trail provides residents and visitors with an active connection between the Elgin Branch of the Illinois Prairie Path and the Busse Woods in Cook County.
The westernmost segment of the trail is longest at 7.35 miles, or 8.1 miles when including the northern spur that ends at Greenbrook Boulevard. Just east of Pratts Wayne Woods County Forest Preserve, the trail segment's western endpoint begins on Forest Preserve Drive. Continuing east through Barlett, the trail passes Happy Trails Park (1431 Woodland Hills Dr), Huntington Meadows, and runs along West Schick Trail until it turns north in West Branch Forest Preserve. Turning north just before Hawk View Park (1482 Pleasant Dr), the trail connects with the West Branch DuPage River Trail at the intersection of Schick Road and S Bartlett Road. Some of this section is paved but as it passes through Hawk Hollow and Mallard Lake preserves, the trail surface switches to a crushed limestone trail surface.
Continuing along S Barlett Road, the trail connects with the Struckman Boulevard Path at the intersection of Struckman Boulevard and S Barlett Road. Turning southeast, the route runs through Hawk Hollow Forest Preserve and then through Mallard Lake Forest Preserve. Winding through the forests and wetlands of Mallard Lake Forest Preserve, the trail curves around the preserve's large lake. The trail comes to an end at the preserve's eastern edge at the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Cloverdale Road in Roselle.
There is a proposed 1.7-mile extension from the current western endpoint in Wayne. The trail will continue along Forest Preserve Drive, turn to run along Munger Road, and connect to the Illinois Prairie Path (IPP) Elgin Branch at the intersection of Smith and Munger with a crossing at Army Trail Road.
East of Roselle, the next section of the trail loops around the lakes of Springfield Park. From Lawrence Avenue, the trail circles around Springfield Park's two lakes to finish and ends at Westminster Drive for a total of 1.8 miles.
The third section is 1.7 miles long. Starting on William Way, just south of Grant Memorial Highway, the trail crosses the highway via a bridge and turns left to follow Rosedale Avenue northwards for around 900 feet. Turning right, the trail heads east through Meacham Grove to finish at the intersection of Circle Avenue and Spring Valley Drive.
The shortest section is 0.57 miles. It begins at Pine Park, near the intersection of E Pine Avenue and Rush Street. Winding south along the baseball diamond, the trail turns north to run east of the Roselle Skate Park. Exiting the park, the trail turns right onto Maple Avenue and crosses Irving Park Road. The trail twists and turns around the Metra Station's southern and northern parking lots, before it ends on Lawrence Avenue.

Misleading description- was anticipating an entire asphalt ride - instead found sections to be gravel. ¿
