Print Friendly MapThe Olmos Greenway Basin Trail sits nestled in the woods of Olmos Basin Park, which in turns cuts a green swathe into San Antonio's North Side. The trail is just short of a mile, stretching from Jones Maltsberger Road down to Devine Road. Across Devine Road are the park's numerous sports facilities, including baseball diamonds and soccer fields. It's almost entirely shaded, a refreshing respite from the Texas sun. The trail offers glimpses of Olmos Creek each time it crosses above it. Residents can use the trail in a host of ways - walking, running, biking, walking dogs and pushing strollers.
The Olmos Greenway Basin is part of the Howard W. Peaks Greenway System, which is 69 miles and growing.
There are two trailheads with parking. You can park at the south end of the trail at 651 Devine Road. There's a second lot that is about halfway along the trail. You can access this by entering Olmos Park at the entrance across from Alamo Heights Boulevard, then turning right and following the road to the trailhead.
Very easy we took our 5yr old daughter who still using training wheels and she completed it.
