Print Friendly MapThe Peachtree Creek Greenway is a planned 12-mile path envisioned to connect the Atlanta Beltline and PATH400 to I-295. The trail will pass through the cities of Atlanta, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville and other parts of DeKalb County.
The initial phase of construction was completed in Brookhaven in December of 2019. This 'model mile' winds alongside North Fork Peachtree Creek between Briarwood Road and N. Druid Hills Road. Though the trail is nestled in a busy urban area, it feels removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life. There are private access points to the trail that its residential and corporate neighbors can use to get some exercise and some respite from the vagaries of the day. The scenic path includes a custom bridge with bumpouts overlooking the creek.
Trail amenities include pathway lighting, benches, trash and recycling cans and bike repair stations. There is accessible parking on both ends, and an additional parking trailhead on Corporate Boulevard.
The next phase of construction will extend the trail from North Druid Hills Road into Atlanta.
Parking is available at both ends: 2090 N Druid Hills Rd NE, Atlanta, GA & 1793 Briarwood Rd NE, Atlanta, GA. There is a third parking in the middle of the trail just off Corporate Blvd (1801 Corporate Blvd., Brookhaven).
Small parking lot on each end. Lovely wide, paved sidewalks. Great path for young bikers. More things added each time we go, swings, benches, etc. Beautiful bridge over the creek and nice art installations. Very quiet. Almost too empty to feel safe. Very few people mid day.
So the trail is about a mile. So I parked and was the only vehicle in the parking lot. I walked the trail and there were very few people. You can see streams and geese and ducks and squirrels in this trail. There is some metal at work and it was a great trail to keep a steady job. Going from one end of the trail to the other is 2 miles. Not 5 stars because there are homeless people sleeping near the Creek, under the bridge.
Recently walked and biked along this beautiful paved path. It is very wide and allows walkers, bikes and families to easily navigate around each other without having to step to the side. There are benches, pet waste receptacles, & bike repair stations. One would almost never know they are not far from 2 major roadways and I believe it’s due to the lovely creek flowing beside the path. The only reason 4 stars instead of 5 is it need to be much longer!!
