There are several places for users to hop on the greenway system. Parking is available at Rassie Wicker Park, 10 Wicker Drive, and at Cannon Park, 90 Woods Road.
To reach Pinehurst's business district, take SR2 to the Pinehurst Exit and continue for 1.3 miles; turn right on Azalea Road then right on Magnolia Road. For more information, contact:

I don’t live in the area but am a nurse at one of the health facilities in the area. I prefer running outdoors but am leaving home before the sun comes up and getting home after dark. I stumbled upon this trail behind my office during a lunch break several years back and loved it. I have been running it before or after work ever since. It’s a little confusing at first as it’s access points are minimally marked. But once you get the layout under your belt it’s a very nice trail!
Started at cannon park - walked into town - not well marked but the arboretum area is beautiful with wooden bridges. Very nice.
The course for the parts I could find. Unfortunately after the first half mile there weren't markers so difficult to follow
I live near this Greenway and use it regularly. It is a mostly gravel trail with some sandy sections and even a few paved areas. Some nice board walks and bridges are used in the wetter areas. There are at least two kiosk maps now but it can still be confusing when the trail nears the central villiage.
You can find water at the Rassie Wicker Park. The nearby town of Southern Pines has a nice Greenway system too.
Great trail. Well shaded and cool. We started walking at about 10:00 and it was very comfortable due to the shade provided by the trees. Most of the trail was in wooded areas. Lots of informational plaques about vegetation along the route and several gazebos to rest. The trail was not marked. I traveled from Fayetteville to walk this trail so I was not familiar with the area. There were NO directional markers. I was lost the entire time and do not think that I walked the entire 5+ miles. There were several forks on the trail with no indications as to which one to take. One area had three directions to chose from. The trail description states you will be passing stores and imply you will be in an suburban/business area which was not the case, I was in the woods the entire time. Once we parked we had to ask a police where to go to start the trail,of the two options we obviously went the wrong way because the one and only map was at the other option. Once we came out of the woods we did find the only map which is located behind the restroom building.
