The Reservation Road Trail sits within the TVA Muscle Shoals Recreation Area in north Alabama. The trail starts at the TVA Nature Trails parking area on Thunder Road, just off Wilson Dam Highway and heads east towards the Tennessee River. Cutting through cool, shady woodlands and verdant fields, the paved trail takes visitors to the Wilson Dam Visitor Center. From there, visitors can get a bird's eye view of the the dam whose construction started during World War 1 to provide additional electricity for the local munitions plants.
The TVA Muscle Shoals Recreation Area has 17 miles of trails, both paved and unpaved.
Parking is available at either end of the trail. You can park at Wilson Dam Visitor Center (222-398 Reservation Rd, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661) or the TVA Nature Trails trailhead on Thunder Road, in Sheffield, AL.
