Riverwalk Greenway (Pigeon Forge) Description

Riverwalk Greenway is a beautiful multiuse trail in the resort town of Pigeon Forge in east Tennessee. While the town is better known for its tourist attractions (it's home to Dollyworld, a Dolly Parton-themed amusement park!), the Riverwalk Greenway is still worth a visit, a place to take a time-out within a serene natural setting. The paved trail begins by looping behind the Pigeon Creek Community Center, before it meets the West Prong of the Little Pegion River. Staying close to the river, the trail stretches south to the Island entertainment complex and then continues down to Patriot Park where it closes with a 1/2-mile loop.

The trail is open for use 24 hours a day, thanks to the lighting provided. Benches are placed at intervals along the route. Pedestrians, cyclists, inline skaters, and users with leashed dogs are all welcome to enjoy.

Parking and Trail Access

Trail access points include:

  • Patriot Park (186 Old Mill Ave), which features a walkway flanked by of all 50 states (nearby parking available).
  • LeConte Convention Center, which has a giant parking lot off Teaster Lane.
  • Butler Street at Ashley Avenue (no parking, just foot or bike access).

Riverwalk Greenway (Pigeon Forge) Reviews

Nice Trail

Nice trail in the middle of Pigeon Forge. We like to park and start at the library. Most people don’t even know it’s there so it’s seldom crowded. Some congestion wit tourist and cars around The Island but that’s about it. I definitely recommend it for a Nice break from the hustle and bustle of Sevier County

Nice trail

Fun ride in the middle of Pigeon Forge. Lots of walkers but really fun. Bring your bicycle with you while on vacation and enjoy

First time riding this trail, made a couple of wrong turns, but found our way by asking people that were walking, nice trail except for the goose crap...it was everywhere

no bike riding today

Started from patriot park, crossed street to start trail through a neighborhood, rode .5 of a mile and unable to continue due to closed crossing and construction for water pipes. Hopefully will open soon but we will not be here.

Accordion

Bridge closed across canal, closed after .5 miles through neighborhood.

No bike riding here!

construction!

Construction at Patriot Park. Curtails almost half of the loop around the park.

Nice ride!

Easy trail, can stop at various points to enjoy the sites. Riding through the Island when it is crowded is challenging but doable.

great family trail

Enjoyable ride amongst the river enjoying nature. Have the ability to visit the island and old mill with easy access. Lots of rest points for smaller children or older adults.

Great family trail

Wonderful trail amongst river with lots of shade and benches for rest when needed! Very relaxing pace with ability to visit the Island and Old Mill from the trail.

Beautiful river walk

Love this trail in pigeon forge. Can get on at multiple locations and enjoy nature throughout this walk!

Beautiful trail

I really have to congratulate Pigeon Forge on this one. This trail along the river is very well done. If you park at Patriot Park you leave the park and cross the street then follow sidewalk past several houses before you get to where it looks like bike trail so it can be confusing if you don't know that. Also when you get to the Island you have to cross a couple of bridges and take a right where the trail goes behind a building back to the river so also confusing. My first time on this trail I had to ask an Island employee. Very worth it though! Trail goes under the bridges so you are not crossing the parkway.
