The paved, flat trail occupies an old railroad corridor connecting Sandpoint to Dover, 3.3 miles south. Begin on Larch Street and head south (heading north would take you to the Milltown Trail). The trail passes by bustling commercial areas of shopping, fast food and coffee shops. Coming to Pine Street, the pathway begins to parallel US Highway 2, and the setting gradually transitions into a more industrial then residential one. The trail terminates on Loretta Lane underneath US 2, near the post office. The trail leads to more than 9 miles of trails at Dover Bay along the Pend d’Oreille River and protected wetlands.
The trails begins/ends in Sandpoint at Larch and Fifth and in Dover by the highway underpass. It is an easy bike ride through the community of Dover to the bike trails at Dover Bay. Just head towards the water.
