The Sandy Canal Trail is paved, multiuse pathway that follows the canal through Sandy and the White City into the City of Draper. Offering a pleasant canal-side opportunity for recreation, the trail also provides connections between various destinations ranging from schools and shopping to parks and museums.
Along the route, the trail passes Storm Mountain Park (980 E 11400 S, Sandy), Mehraban Wetland Park (S 880 E, Draper), Lone Peak Park (10140 S 700 E, Sandy), several elementary schools, numerous businesses, restaurants and cafes, cultural sites, and community facilities.
The parks along the trail offer additional opportunities for fun, exercise, and community. Lone Peak Park includes several playgrounds, a skatepark, a running track, picnic tables and pavilions, parking, and multiple sports fields. Storm Mountain Park has sport fields, tennis courts, parking, and restrooms. Mehraban Wetland Park has trails, Sunset Pond, a smaller pond, birdwatching, and fishing. Dogs on leashes are welcome on the trail.
Looking for nearby trails? The trail's southern end connects to the Porter Rockwell Trail on Draper Parkway/12300 S in the City of Draper. The Porter Rockwell Trail follows an abandoned rail corridor through the suburbs south of Salt Lake City and connects with the Draper Canal Trail further south.

For those driving, parking is available at Lone Peak Park (10140 S 700 E, Sandy), Mehraban Wetland Park (S 880 E, Draper), and Storm Mountain Park (980 E 11400 S, Sandy). Visit the TrailLink map for all options and detailed directions.
Trail is well paved. Crosses a lot of streets, so not a great flow for riding/blading.
