Santa Rosa SMART Pathway Description

A part of the SMART Pathway system, the Santa Rosa Pathway is divided into two segments. The northern 1.4-mile section offers a short, pleasant route from north Santa Rosa into the city's downtown. Running parallel to the SMART commuter rail line, the paved multi-use path is lined with trees and shrubbery. At trail's southern endpoint in downtown Santa Rosa, the southwestern section of the Santa Rosa Pathway can be reached via a short detour south on Wilson Street and west on W 3rd Street. Near the trail's endpoint, there is secure eLocker bike parking at 1500 Guerneville Rd, which is part of a pay-to-use bike parking/rental network. The nearby Joe Rodota Trail and Santa Rosa Creek Trail can both be accessed in downtown Santa Rosa as well.

The downtown Santa Rosa SMART Station is situated between the two sections of the trail. The 2.4-mile southwest section of the Santa Rosa Pathway runs from Hearn Avenue in downtown Santa Rosa to Bellevue Avenue. The tree-lined path continues to parallel the SMART commuter rail line. When complete, the SMART Pathway system will span 70 miles across California from Cloverdale to Larkspur.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available in downtown Santa Rosa and trail access is available along the route, as well as at each of the endpoints. See the TrailLink map for locations and detailed directions.
