Sedgwick County Zoo/Park Path Description

Despite its name, the Sedgwick County Zoo and Park Path makes several different loops throughout the park, totaling 8.9 miles, and doesn't really incorporate the zoo itself, except for going around its perimeter. The trail system makes for a pleasant, and traffic-free, excursion around small lakes, meadows and ball fields, and part of the trail courses along a scenic creek through a narrow wooded corridor.

Parking and Trail Access

Four parking areas are available in the southwestern section of the trail system: enter North Shore Blvd. off 13th Street or park at the ball fields off both 13th St. and Ridge Road. You can also park at the zoo (entraces on Zoo Blvd. and Windmill Rd.).

Sedgwick County Zoo/Park Path Reviews

Enjoyed

Very nice park easy to access! Plan to ride again when down from South Dakota!

2nd Best Path in Wichita

As an e-bike owner, I like this path cuz it provides decent distance, is completely paved, and it’s in a very popular park with lots of people, so it’s very safe and has lots of parking. While you’re essentially doing a loop, there’s multiple alternate routes you can take each time around that give you different views of the inner park. A few things to look at too. Zoo walls, small bridges, ponds, ball fields, playgrounds, some shaded tree covered portions as well. Great for walking too.

Sedgwick County Park

Love it! Clean, sitting areas, well keep, awesome trail!

Ride in The Park

Ride 10 - 15 miles 5 days a week as paths are in good asphalt shape and lot's of great scenery I.E. forrest and plains like topography with covered bridges and several lakes .
