Southwest Crossing Trail Description

The Southwest Crossing Trail runs adjacent to Highland Mesa Drive toward I-40 then passes through open space, dropping down to go below I-40. The crossing was first built to move sheep but now funnels pedestrians and cyclists. On the south side of I-40 the trail connects to the University Heights neighborhood.

There are plans to extend the trail east along Forest Meadows Street to Woodlands Village Boulevard.

Parking and Trail Access

There is no official parking for the trail but a bus stop is located nearby along Forest Meadows Street just south of Highland Mesa Road.
