Stadium Connector Shared Use Pathway Description

The Stadium Connector Shared Use Pathway is a short but important route in northwestern Mesa, Arizona. It links Hohokam Stadium (the spring training home of the Oakland Athletics) and Sloan Park (the training home of the Chicago Cubs) with the Rio Salado Pathway and Tempe Town Lake in the neighboring City of Tempe. For longer trips, trail uses can also hop on the nearby Tempe Canal Path, a paved 6-mile pathway, at N. Alma School Road.

Although much of the Stadium Connector route is off-road trail, note that a portion is cycle track.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking and restrooms are available in nearby Riverview Park (2100 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Mesa), which is just a couple blocks west of the Stadium Connector's western endpoint.

Stadium Connector Shared Use Pathway Reviews

Mostly separate from traffic

Nice path that is separate from traffic for most of the ride. It’s a smaller two lane path with a curb and reflective markers where it meets the road. There is a small portion of it that cuts through a residential neighborhood with speed bumps and no marked bike lane, but there’s not enough vehicle traffic to cause much issue. Once you hit Alma School or Dobson you’ll take a path along the canal to the other respective intersection. If you intend to continue riding to Riverview park, you’ll need to cross a six lane road with a crosswalk. A marked street bike lane will take you the rest of the way, albeit with no barriers

incorrect

The distance is incorrect. From Dobson to Center in a straight line is 1.7 miles. This path is essentially Dobson to Center with some bends and turns in it.

easy and fun ride

You can use the stadium connector to ride from Mesa in to Tempe and Phoenix, or head the other direction and ride into Gilbert! A great paved path with lights!
