The State Farm Trail is part of North Platte's expanding network of recreational trails. The trail runs east to west, straddling US Highway 83. Beginning at the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Office, the path heads west along State Farm Road, crossing US-83 by way of an underpass before emerging at the University of Nebraska's Extension campus. There's a short on-street segment running from Snyder Street to the off-street segment that leads back to State Farm Road. The route is well-signed and on low-stress streets. Tracing the perimeter of agricultural fields, the trail parallels State Farm Road and comes to an end in a residential neighborhood.
The concrete trail is open to cyclists, pedestrians and their pets.
