Print Friendly MapThe Sylvia Creek Forestry Trail is located in Lake Sylvia State Park north of Montesano on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. The interpretive trail winds through the deep forest and alongside scenic creeks and ponds. The trail follows an old logging railroad line along the west shore of the lake, leaving from the boat launch. You can combine it with other trails to loop around the lake. 0.5 miles of trail are ADA accessible. It's a great place for watching wildlife, especially birds, and peaceful retreat. Lake Sylvia State Park is at 1813 Lake Sylvia Road, Montesano, WA 98563. From Montesano take 3rd Street north. After crossing McBryde Avenue, 3rd Street turns into Lake Sylvia Road. Continue on the winding road north to the parking area.
Had a great time with my husband and 2 daughters (ages 9 and 11). The trail was a bit muddy and pretty narrow in some spots but we saw a beaver! Definately the highlight of the trip. We stopped and had lunch on the creek right before the bridge. Great day for some ametuer hikers. I wouldn't say this is for all ages though.
