Ten Mile Creek Greenway Description

Unlike its name, the Ten Mile Creek Greenway only stretches about 1.9 miles, but the meandering asphalt path is still popular with joggers, cyclists, dog-walkers and rollerbladers of all stripes.

The trail’s starting point is at the east end of the Carmike Wynnsong Theater parking lot. The trail takes users under I-40 before emerging into the wooded park on the other side of the road. After crossing Bridgewater Road, you will enter the thickly-wooded Ten Mile Greenway Park, where the trees form a nearly unbroken line along the pathway. There is a fork in the trail at Walker Springs Park, where one branch swings northwest into Kidder Lane, while the other fork keeps heading east, across Walker Springs Road and underneath North Galleher View Road to intersect with the Cavel Station Greenway, just south of Broome Road. Both trails are part of the wider Knoxville Greenway system.

Parking and Trail Access

Beginning on I-40, take the Cedar Bluff exit heading south. Turn right onto Peters Road and make a left to Best Buy. Stay right on Town and Country Circle. That will bring you to the Carmike Theater. Park on the eastern end.

You might also choose to start at Walker Springs Park (700 Kidder Ln, Knoxville), where you can find parking as well as picnic areas and a playground. To get there from I-40, take the Walker Springs/Gallaher View exit 379, then head north on North Galleher View Road. Drive for about half a mile, then turn left of Walker Springs Road, followed by another left onto Kidder Lane. The park will be on your left.
