Timber Ridge Trail Description

The Timber Ridge trail is located on the eastern side of the Timber Ridge Forest Preserve in west Chicago. The preserve offers several trails, fishing, picnicking, and is home to Kline Creek Farms, the Forest Preserve District's 1890s living history farm. The northern side of the trail connects with the 12-mile Great Western Trail, while the southern end connects with the 58-mile Illinois Prairie Path. Hiking, biking, horseback riding, and cross country skiing are permitted on the trail, however horses and bikes are prohibited from entering the Kline Creek Farmstead.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking can be found about halfway through the trail off County farm road at the Kline Creek Farm, where a large parking lot can fit around 70 cars.

At the southern end of the Timber Ridge Trail, which intersects with the Illinois Prairie Path, a small lot has room for around 10 cars.
