West Des Moines Levee Trail Description

The West Des Moines Levee Trail was named in 2015 as one of the Top 10 most frequented trails in the Des Moines trail network. The trail is the connector between two other popular trails, Jordan Creek Trail and the Walnut Creek Trail. It’s 1.2 miles long and tree lined on one side as it winds through grassy open spaces. Once it crosses Walnut Creek along N. Valley Drive before connecting to the Walnut Creek Trail.

Parking and Trail Access

The trail begins at the end of the Jordan Creek Trail at SR 28 (SW 63rd St). Parking can be found at the Raccoon River Park (2500 Grand Avenue). The closest parking can be found at the softball complex. You can access the trail via the Jordan Creek Trail.
