Following a former railroad corridor, the West Street Pathway is a multiuse paved trail running a half-mile through the neighborhood of Northwest Berkeley.
The wide, smooth pathway is likely accessible for those using mobility devices and strollers. With lampposts placed at regular intervals along the route, the trail is well lit.
The trail links Crystol Red Park (20 Virginia Gardens) and Strawberry Creek Park (1260 Allston Way). Along the way, the trail also passes by Berkeley Way Mini-Park (1294 Berkeley Way). At its northern end, the trail connects to the Ohlone Greenway. Follow the greenway north across Cedar Street to reach Cedar Rose Park (1300 Rose St). Cedar Rose Park has a community garden and an amphitheater. Both Cedar Rose Park and Strawberry Creek Park have restrooms and a variety of sports fields and courts. All three parks have playgrounds and picnic areas.
Serving as a useful transportation link for the surrounding communities, trail provides a safe and efficient route for pedestrians and cyclists to navigate the area while accessing local businesses and recreational spaces.

Berkeley Way Mini-Park (1294 Berkeley Way, Berkeley) has limited off-street parking. Paid parking is available at BART's North Berkeley Station (1660 Franklin St, Berkley) near the northern end of the trail. Street parking may also be available in the neighborhoods along the route.
