The Wichita Valley Rail-Trail travels from the southwestern end of Wichita Falls to the eastern edge of Holliday, spanning a travel of seven miles. The trail was once part of the Wichita Valley Railway and formed from a non-profit entity and a collection of volunteers. Several years in the making, there is still work being done as donations and grants are still being obtained to add such amentities as wildlife viewing, waterfowl stations, and clearing of areas to accomodate horseback riders more efficiently. Fitness stations are available each mile and walking and biking is permitted. The trail is currently layered with gravel but more improvements are forthcoming. There's alot of wildlife to see and open space to enjoy your travels.

The large volcanic rock needs to be removed and replaced with something more user friendly for riding on horse or bike.
Very pretty. Not much safe parking for truck, trailer, and horses. You need a horse with shoes for beginning, the old rock from railway is what you are riding on. It was very pretty once we got away from where the train track used to be. Really nice for being so close to town. There was enough trail to wander for a couple of hours.
