Monticello Road Path Description

The Monticello Road Path offers a paved north-south route through Shawnee on the western outskirts of Kansas City. It connects shopping areas, housing subdivisions and schools.

At the north end of the trail, you can turn east and follow the sidewalk along the south side of Johnson Drive for about a mile to reach the Gary L. Haller National Recreation Trail. That trail runs for 17 miles through the linear Mill Creek Streamway Park and provides access to the popular Shawnee Mission Park.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Monticello Road Path can be found at Mill Valley High School (5900 Monticello Road) and Monticello Trails Middle School (6100 Monticello Road).
