Description

The Oak Parkway Trail covers just over 2 miles across Folsom, a suburb of Sacramento, providing an important connection between the eastern and western halves of the city. The tree-dotted pathway traverses gently rolling hills along a wide green swath through residential neighborhoods. Along the way, you will cross a couple of streets, but they are well-marked pedestrian crossings.

Mid-trail, you'll reach BT Collins Park, a nice place to relax with picnic tables, benches, volleyball courts and a horseshoe pit.

From its eastern end, trail-goers can cross Blue Ravine Road and travel north along the roadway a short distance to the Humbug-Willow Creek Trail to reach many other points in the city.

Parking and Trail Access

The closest public parking to the Arrowsmith/Blue Ravine trailhead is Elvie Perazzo Briggs Park (125 Manseau Drive). Restrooms and water are also available there. From the park, follow Arrowsmith Drive south through quiet neighborhood streets to the trailhead.

Parking at the other end of the trail can typically be found behind Folsom City Hall (50 Natoma Street). There is a well-marked bicycle lane along busy Natoma Street that can take you to the trailhead. Unfortunately for pedestrians, the sidewalk along Natoma ends at Fargo Way, so you will not be able to travel safely from City Hall to the trailhead.
