Established in 1892, the Bozeman National Fish Hatchery was used for over 70 years in the husbandry and production of trout for Montana and surrounding states. The superintendent’s house and bath cottage are the only original structures remaining. After ceasing production of trout in 1966, the facilities have since been designated first as a Fish Cultural Development Center, then as a Fish Technology Center. Presently, the Fish Technology Center focuses on the conservation and management of aquatic resources using innovative strategies and technologies.
