Suncoast Trail

found smoothies

July, 2017 by orthodevil

I'm always looking for food on this trail. I found a great smoothie and wrap place on trail. It is juicy's juice bar. It is right off the trail on Powell.

Upper Tampa Bay Trail

Great amenity to the area, nice job with the recent trail extension

July, 2017 by sbeach_tl

This is a nice trail addition outside of the hustle and bustle of St. Pete and Tampa, where you can ride/run/walk/rollerblade for miles of uninterrupted multi-use trail.

This video highlights the recent Phase IV trail improvement project that connects Upper Tampa Bay Trail to the popular Suncoast Parkway Trail.

General James A. Van Fleet State Trail

Great Rural Trail

July, 2017 by kipsmith57@yahoo.com

This trail delivers. It is remarkable to have a trail go over 10 miles with only 1 road intersection. surface is in above average condition. the trail is shaded most of the day, except midday when I was there. Turtles, hawks and other animals are a bonus.

Chain of Lakes Trail

Don't waste your time

July, 2017 by brianleesawyer

Too short. Too ugly. Too bad, it could be better if it connected to something else.

Auburndale TECO Trail

Connects to General James Van Fleet

July, 2017 by brianleesawyer

I rated this as a 4 only because it connects to the Van Fleet trail. It in itself is nothing special but the fact that it connects makes the total length 35 miles. So if you're ready for Straight flat ride of 70 miles that is nice with about 40% shade this is a great ride. Bring lots of water. The trail end has awful water and it's a long way back to the water supply. The trailhead here is also safer than the Van Fleet trailhead in Polk city.

Fort Fraser Trail

My Home Trail

July, 2017 by brianleesawyer

I ride this trail 3-5 times a wk. Starting at the north end: the N trailhead is next to a sheriffs office so it is a little safer. No RR or water there. 1 mile into ride there's acovered bridge. .5 Mi. to spur to a nature preserve (Circle B Bar) The spur is nice for wildlife. One can continue into the reserve with mt bike for terrain. I just ride the .5 spur and then back. After 2.5 miles total there is a trail head (highlands city). RR and water. Across street is Bike shop. The trail goes another 3 mi. to another spur. This one is 2 mi. Then 2 more mi. to Bartow, fl. To trail head Another covered bridge. After bridge is major highway with no easy way to cross and only 100 feet of trail on across hwy. I'd stop at bridge. Good ride. 3.5 stars!

Suncoast Trail

Beautiful and relaxing, currently missing it!

July, 2017 by gfili829

I just scored a new bike in Fort Lauderdale and figured I'd post how much I loved riding this trail when I lived in Tampa! Scenic, a decent bit of shade on some of the upper sections, wide enough for multi-use function, and you might even see a couple of horses on your route. We need something like this on the east coast!

Withlacoochee State Trail

withlacoochee trail

July, 2017 by rah168

Great ride! We're training for the Climate Ride in September 2017. The Withlacoochee Trail was part of our miles training. We started at the Lacoochie/Dade City trailhead on day 1. Ended 46 miles later and peddled an additional 2-3 miles to Dunnellon where we stayed for the night. Day 2 peddled back. The trail is wide, debris free, safe, shaded and the restrooms are clean. Floral City is a great half way point for getting water or Gatorade. There is at least one convenience store in Floral. The bike store, Trailside, is essentially on the trail. However, they are not open on Sundays.

Upper Tampa Bay Trail

Upper Tampa Bay Trail review

July, 2017 by ahjc0626

This is a very beautiful trail with nice scenery and wonderful canopy trees over much of the trail.. About the only complaint would be the lack of direction signs.. we started at the south end near country way.. nice parking but started off the wrong way because we saw pictures of a bridge online, therefor we took off over the bridge.. wrong way, saw no direction sign.. also when you go about halfway it would be beneficial if there were a sign telling you to go left to continue on the 2nd half.. otherwise you dead end at linebaugh wondering where to go.. sure would be awesome if they would continue and connect to the next trail!!

Flat, slightly scenic, quiet. Rode from Myrtle Park to Vanfleet trailhead and back. About 13 miles round trip. Enjoyable ride.

June, 2017 by nick59sf

Beautiful trail

This is a great park with a well-maintained trail. Not on the road which I appreciate. Beach is just steps away throughout the trail. Beautiful. Note: $5 parking fee, but hundred of parking spots all over the park.
