Historic Jungle Trail

Disappointed

November, 2022 by magbob

Went to ride this today, however, the road is closed to the parking lot for the jungle trail. Also, the Pelican Island National Reserve was closed. Probably due to storm damage was our guess.

East Central Regional Rail Trail

A favorite!

October, 2022 by rokitmom

This trail is my favorite; it's wide and smooth and well-maintained. The scenery is fabulous and there are enough stopping and turn-around points along the way that I can vary the distance of my ride as frequently as I'd like while still riding the same trail. The trail is well used but never overly crowded; I feel quite safe on it even riding alone at night or in the very early mornings. In addition to the scenery, you may see some interesting wildlife as well. I have seen bears, foxes, alligators, snakes, and turtles crossing the path!

Shingle Creek Regional Trail (FL)

displayed map is not accurate

September, 2022 by rescueranger03

I ride this trail often but what is listed is not accurate. For instance, there is not trail/road that connect the hunters creek path to Osceolla. That path has not been built yet. Eventually all of these paths will connect but that is several years away. That being said, it’s a wonderfully great trail but the longest segment is only about 7 miles. The future will be great. Just be aware as you plan your ride.

Nice Trail for short run

August, 2022 by claire.louisa.knowles

I started in between Steffee Landing & Pioneer Village and ran 6 miles (there and back, with a few wiggles down different off shoots). Really well maintained, runs next to creek. A few people out and about near first light. Felt safe. Nice running over wooden bridges and through woods,

Shingle Creek Regional Trail (FL)

very disjointed trail

June, 2022 by plalli_tl

The two parts of (the northern section of) this trail could not be more different. From Eagles Nest Park to Millenia is along busy roads, crossing streets, poorly paved, unmarked, and unmaintained. But then starting at Artegon, over to Sand Lake Rd and finally to the current end at Destination Pkwy, is absolutely beautiful. Quiet, serene, and meticulously well kept, with signage and trail markers a plenty. I hope Orlando or Orange County will consider improving the first half of this section as they also advance plans to create the next phase of the trail, connecting it to its other part in Kissimmee.

Titusville Multi-Use Trail

Wonderfully not flat nature

May, 2022 by sgrenerth

From Barna east to the end at Kathy Trail is a very nice trail! It's plenty wide, well used and surprisingly not flat. The entire trail goes through nicely sized natural area.
The much shorter portion of the trail through Wuesthoff Park is nice and does include some exercise stations. The very final section of that short trail going west is clearly not used as much.
While down here visiting family I've enjoyed the trail a few times because it's so nice and very convenient to ride my grocery getter over to the nearby Publix for provisions.

Route A1A Trail

This is sidewalk - or you ride in traffic

February, 2022 by tc4racer

While I ride the stretch from the Sebastian Inlet bridge to Melbourne beach proper, I don't consider it great. You have two choices, ride on the fairly well maintained sidewalk, or in the road. The mamils in their spiffy colors and 5k bikes ride on the road. The are crazy. There is no bike lane, and at times the speed limit is 55, which means cars are passing you inches away at 65mph. Remember, this is the land of Q-tips driving, and texters. You have to be out of your mind. The side walk is fine to ride on. Wind can be brutal, I time it so the wind is at my back on the way home. There are lots of little side roads to explore as well. The stretch from the bridge to Vero is awful. The sidewalk here is individually poured concrete sections, and you will thump/thump for 20 miles. Terrible ride.

Relaxing Trail With Historical Value

February, 2022 by marklemoine

While traveling, my wife and I were Pleased to enjoy this entire trail. It features a shared space between a nature preserve and residential area. Trail head also includes a visitor center that was an enjoyable stop as well, learning about the environmental and cultural history of the area. The most exciting aspect was to learn that we were biking along a watershed that is the start of the Everglades.

Not much fun crossing busy streets. We turned around and went home halfway into the ride. Too much work.
