Lake Apopka Loop Trail

Amazing for Wildlife

November, 2022 by barbscondo

We rode this trail on Nov 18, 2022 on a perfect 65 degree day. It's true there is no shade so something to consider if really hot. It was amazing to us: we are from AZ and old (76) and used our pedal assist ebikes. We usually ride paved or asphalt and this was a well packed dirt road and was no problem. There was so much to look at did not even think about the few bumps. We parked at Magnolia Park Trailhead. I read this used to be closed but open now-a beautiful park and great bathrooms. We only did about 8 miles up and then back-so much to look at. Saw 10 alligators sunning themselves a few feet from the path, 2 bald eagles, 2 turtles and many ducks and different birds. At the old pumphouse? maybe 5 or 6 miles in there are two shaded picnic tables. I would do again and again. The lady at Spin City cycles in Apopka told me sometimes you can 100 alligators. They do cross the trail apparently at times heading to the marshy wetlands on the other side of the trail. Trail is elevated like on a levee but not much above the lake.

Suncoast Trail

Suncoast Trail Full

November, 2022 by stevecycles200

The trail varies from south to north. The southern end from the Upper Tampa Bay Trailhead is flat, with open space, woods to the west, and the toll road to the east. In this section, the toll road is not buffered, so it is noisier and in places very close to the trail. As you go north there are more trees and a larger gap to the toll road quieting down the ride. Once you are north of Anderson Snow Park, the trail has a rolling terrain. From SpringHill drive to the end at 98 and back, I had 1,200 feet of gain. From Anderson Snow to the southern end in back, much less.

South Lake and Lake Minneola Scenic Trail

Very Nice Trail although with some missing signage.

November, 2022 by matthew.j.gregg

Overall, it is a very nice trail that winds through Minneola and Clermont. Very nice connecting trail to West Orange and Groveland that is only a mile from its end. Would like to see an extension towards Groveland as there is not even a sidewalk to go with SR50 in some portions for around half a mile. It would also be nice to see the trail get extended towards the Van Fleet trail as a connector between these two trails. Also, I do really like and appreciate the mileage markers that are present on this trail as well as the Hancock Trail. I know that West Orange does have Mile Markers, but it is done way nicer on these two trails as nice full posts that aren’t just yellow markers.

Spring to Spring Trail

De León Springs to Blue Springs and back

September, 2022 by cranesfc_tl

The De León Springs trailhead is nonexistent so we started from the post office. About 3.8 miles of the 14 miles to Blue Springs is on the road. Traffic was generally polite and safe. There are 2 busy street crossings. Route markings aren’t the greatest so this app is you friend. There are enough rolling hills to get your heart rate up a little. All in all a very enjoyable ride.

Withlacoochee Bay Trail

Withlacoochee South end heading north 15 miles

August, 2022 by jagnell55

Very nice trail but not too scenic. This is very well maintained and has rest stops along the route. It's very urban and quiet but not much as far as scenery. We plan on doing the North side soon to see what that has to offer. Don't get me wrong it's a nice ride and well worth the effort. Parking is not a hassle either.
