Nice trail. Multiple access points with parking. Connects to military trail that dead ends at NAS Whiting field
The trail appears in process of being repaired. It needs it. I think my gravel bike with larger tires helped out. I parked at Lagoon Park some 1.8 miles west of 59. Rest rooms and great parking with view of little lagoon. So wished the trail would extend farther west.
Pretty 5 miles. More of a town ride. Being fixed and upgraded, Nov 2020. One medium hill.
Gulf State Park is wonderful trail riding. Rosemary Dunes has parking lot and bike rental at one end.
Gulf state park is the best trail riding! This is a lovely, peaceful mile.
Definitely worth a quick visit for photos. Compared to other brick roads I've traveled, it's relatively smooth. I run 23s.
Absolutely beautiful! Love how it links to so many more trails!
Just rode the trail from Village Point Park Reserve to downtown Fairhope, about 8 miles one way. Not much change from what previous reviews describe regarding the condition of the trail and obstacles/traffic you'll encounter. It's a beautiful ride but you just have to be prepared to NOT have a smooth ride, and to ride at a casual pace (unless you're on a mountain bike). Fairhope is a great stop-over with some good restaurants, but beware of Monday closures. Also a nice area to go off trail and explore.
The most difficult part of the ride is in the town with crossing streets, but only one is really busy. Majority of the ride toward the naval base is quiet. About half of the trail has shade. We drove an hour from AL to ride this trail and we are looking forward to riding again
